Chris Vettel, HHP
Chris Vettel has been an equine massage therapist since 1988 and has owned horses for over 25 years. She spent many of those years showing Hunters at the GSDHJA shows, while riding with some of North County’s top trainers. Now she enjoys spending time at the barn working with the horses through her equine massage practice.
Chris Vettel is a Holistic Health Practitioner that graduated from Healing Hands School of Holistic Health in 1997. At that time, she began focusing her massage talents on people as well as horses. She spent seven years working at the Four Seasons Aviara Spa in Carlsbad, where she learned and practiced exceptional customer service. In 2008 she was chosen as a founding instructor for MiraCosta College’s Therapeutic Massage Program, where she taught massage until Spring 2013.
Chris brings a wide variety of experience and knowledge to her massages. Her goal is to help you stay balanced, focused and healthy, while giving you excellent customer service at Perfect Balance Therapeutic Massage.

Cary spent several years sitting behind a desk in the world of finance, sure that he had been doomed to a life of paper pushing to support his family. But everyday he would trudge home after work, and wonder how he was making a difference. When Cary’s wife became ill, he worked at taking care of her, massaging her sore joints and helping her sleep at night through massage. He didn’t understand anatomy or know the name of each muscle in the body, but found so much joy in watching the peace and relief in her face.
Shortly after the economy tanked and banks began failing, Cary lost his job. He knew that his life needed a different direction; so the decision to become a massage therapist was an easy one. That decision has been fraught with challenges and hard work, but he considered it to be one of the best decisions he’s ever made. Cary has always been a true believer in integrative medicine’s ability to heal, but he has never been as moved as the day he was able to use massage to calm his autistic stepson. He deals with enormous amounts of anxiety, and suffers from insomnia often. Cary could see him sleeping peacefully after massaging the knots out of his little shoulders.
Cary knows that what he has been given at MiraCosta College is far more than an education. He has been taught how to massage and learned how to heal. He discovered his passion in the art of healing.
